A bit more info:

Jolls Cottage is perched on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) the Lincolnshire Wolds is a little known area of the British Isles...huge skies and magnificent landscapes make this area a breathtaking and spectacular area to visit. With a prehistoric trackway ‘The Blue Stone Heath road’ only a couple of miles away and which runs along the western escarpment of the Wolds Jolls Cottage has much to offer in terms of surroundings and activities. The cottage looks to the east over Tennyson country but is south facing ensuring wonderful sunrises and also the best of the days sun. Hidden from the prevailing south westerly winds Jolls enjoys a warm, protected position. A hidden gem waiting to be discovered!

The property is only a 30-minute drive away from the east coast and the traditional seaside resort of Skegness with its sandy beaches, or head west, where a 30-minute drive will take you to the cathedral city of Lincoln, which is famous for its castle and Magna Carta Visitors Centre. Horncastle and close by Woodhall Spa both have many good places where you can eat and drink, or while the days away in the many antique shops. Cyclists and walkers will love the rolling hills of the Lincolnshire Wolds, and there are good routes straight from the door including the Lindsey Trail. There are also miles of bridleways and quiet country lanes to enjoy. Beach 18 miles. Shop and pub 2 miles, restaurant 4 miles.

  • Superb writers’/artists’ retreat

Interaction with guests:

Although we don’t live nearby we are always available on the end of a phone or text and are delighted to help and our friendly housekeeper Jane and her husband Rob who does our gardening are always on hand to help with any problems or just give general advice. I regularly put together personalised lists of ideas of things to do...for example I recently compiled a list of activities that teenagers visiting Jolls night like to participate in.

Getting about:

A car is essential for movement around the area...though CallConnect buses operate throughout the area providing a low cost, useful transport system. Local taxi firms are available for short journeys or to and from the night lif of Skegness.
